The idea of life cycle is central to the natural world: the tree has to shed its leaves when the temperature drops in autumn; the river erodes its banks, the cold front will deposit its rain; the tide has to rise and fall. The laws of nature are governed by forces nobody chose, no one can resist and which brook no exception. When we contemplate them, we’re witnessing rules that in their broad, irresistible structure apply to ourselves as well. Everything has a purpose, everything happens in a specific way, afterward settling into a perfect balance with natural energy flows.
The installation Cyclic Serendipity, inspired by these cyclic movements, brings people together in an interactive environment where glowing Chinese golden leaf drifts like the sun tracing its arc across the sky. With a sense of serenity and calm, this soft, unhurried motion is a reminder that no matter the turbulence of events, all things find their equilibrium in the end—and this balance is not a rigid order, but a quiet, unplanned grace woven into the rhythm of cycles. In the same manner, it represents a connection between people and the passing of time, of the way it flutters restlessly forward, and it invites us to cherish and savor every serendipitous moment nested within life’s repeating tides.
