Then Thursday Comes Again is a lifelong art project that began on September 9, 2021, a Thursday, when the artist was 36 years old.

Each week, a new white tote bag is carried for seven days. Every day, the date, city, and weather are stitched onto its surface by hand. Alongside the bags, photographs of the sky are paired with the week’s most widely circulated and discussed global news event, identified with the assistance of AI. Together, they bring three scales of time into dialogue: personal experience, human history, and the seemingly continuous world beyond them. Each record belongs to a particular moment. Once made, it remains unchanged, while the world and the person encountering it continue to change.

The project also serves as a generative source for independent artworks. Through painting, objects, and other media, derived works transform elements of the accumulating archive into new investigations of time, memory, absence, and impermanence.

Conceived as a lifelong practice, with its first 36 years forming an initial horizon, the project has no predetermined conclusion. Its meaning continues to unfold through accumulation, transformation, and the passage of time.
